Summary

Compliance areas describe the boundaries of responsibility for compliance area managers. Each compliance area contains several compliance field areas and offices. Compliance and Field Services (CFS) Branch provides front-line delivery of Ministry of Environment programs. Field areas and offices are strategically situated across the province to facilitate effective and timely service to clients.

Description

Saskatchewan Environment Compliance and Field Services (CFS) Areas are administrative field office areas for managing and protecting our environment and making sure natural resources (i.e. fish and wildlife) are used wisely.

The compliance areas are an aggregation of the compliance field areas. The compliance field area boundaries are intended to topologically match the linework of the enforcement grid (not published). This grid is based on SG township boundaries in the south and national topographic system (NTS) 1:50,000 mapsheet extents in the north. Some exceptions have been made to the compliance area's where geographic features make responding to calls more efficient for region's that may be technically closer to respond.

It is important to note that although the term "Region" is used in this dataset, it is an older term that Compliance and Field Services Branch no longer uses. The Ministry of Environment no longer divides the province into regions. Use the terms "Compliance Areas" and "Compliance Field Areas" instead.

No restrictions except the following: This administrative boundary has been integrated with Ministry of Environments Application Processing & Permit Management System (APPM). The CONTACT field contains a phone number that is used on permits that require a contact phone number. The CRM_TEAM_ID field contains a computer generated Global Unique Identifier (GUID) that relates to a CRM system queue that notifies conservation officers in the field area. Alter this feature class to change phone numbers, CRM team queues and areas where permits belong in.
