This data set displays Crown mineral lands selected by Saskatchewan First Nations under either Treaty Land Entitlement or Specific Claim Settlement Agreements
The depiction of Crown mineral lands selected by First Nations is intended to provide the public with information on the location of provincial Crown minerals which may become an Indian reserve under the terms of a land claim agreement.
The data set depicts the selection of provincial Crown minerals only. Land claim selections do not encumber freehold minerals or private surface rights. During the selection period, undisposed Crown minerals are unavailable for dispositioning under The Crown Minerals Act. Crown minerals subject to land claims change regularly. Once a new Indian reserve is established, the record is removed from the dataset. Land claim selections may also terminate either through the withdrawal of the land claim by the First Nation or through the discontinuance of the selection under the terms of the land claim agreement.
The dataset is updated every Tuesday and Thursday.
