Saskatchewan Mining and Industrial Facilities with permits managed by Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment (EPB Branch). Locations were created using best available imagery along with references from existing datasets when possible.
Environmental Protection Branch Regions within Saskatchewan.
This data set provides an account of land use planning areas for which Ministry of environment has led or co-led planning processes. the following 5 have been formally approved by the Ministry and are available to the public:
The Amisk-Atik Integrated Forest Land Use Plan Area is situated in Northeastern Saskatchewan. It is bordered to the south by the Pasquia-Porcupine Integrated Forest Land Use Plan, to the east by the Saskatchewan-Manitoba provincial border, and to the west by the Misinipiy Integrated Land Use Plan.
The La Ronge Integrated Land Use Management Plan area includes an approximate 11 km corridor on either side of highway #2 from the Junction of Highway #165 to Nemeiben Lake consisting mostly of Crown resource land but, also includes the developed areas of Lamp Lake, Eagle Point, Potato Lake, Napatak, Rabbit Creek and private titled parcels.
The Misinipiy planning area encompasses 3,117,754 ha, situated in Northern Saskatchewan extending from Wapawekka Hills in the Southeast, Besnard Lake in the Southwest, Key Lake mine in the Northwest and Wathaman Lake in the Northeast.
Nisbet Integrated Forest Land Use Plan boundary includes all of the Nisbet Provincial Forest, as described in The Forest Resources Management Regulations, which is approximately 80,000 ha in size.
The Pasquia/Porcupine Integrated Forest Land Use Plan covers nearly 20,000 square kilometers, including the Porcupine Hills, the Pasquia Hills and part of the Cumberland House area.
A Service showing boundaries for the Provincial Forest, Forest Protection Areas and the Timber Supply Areas
The Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment, Forest Service Branch maintains a series of forest inventory vector mapsheets for the Saskatchewan commercial forest zone at a scale of 1:15 000, each representing a 10x10km area. This map grid identifies the spatial bounds of each mapsheet, with coverage for the entire province.
The following forest inventory vector map products are available:
UTM Inventory contains basic timber and site information created from photo interpretation and stratified sampling using data collected between 1970 and 1995. Covers the full extent of the commercial forest.
SFVI Inventory (Saskatchewan Forest Vegetation Inventory) is based on imagery from 1996-2008. Use of this product is restricted, and coverage is limited to the Prince Albert Timber Supply Area.
FRI Inventory (Forest Resource Inventory) contains recent information on the general land cover, terrain, and growing stock (height, diameter, basal area, timber volume and stem density) within the provincial forest and adjacent forest fringe.
UTM_MAPSHEET, SFVI_MAPSHEET, and FRI_MAPSHEET attribute fields identify the available map products for each mapsheet.
Declination is calculated and updated based on the latest magnetic reference field models (last updated in 2020).
The Saskatchewan Wildlife Management Units (WMU's) are described in Part II of the Wildlife Management Zones and Special Areas Boundaries Regulations (WMZSABR). They are constituted as areas for protecting, propagating, managing, harvesting, controlling or regulating wildlife or its habitat.
This layer represents the perimeter of the Saskatchewan WMU's with inner boundaries dissolved.
The WSA Titled Lands GIS layer provides a representation of the parcels of land currently owned by the Water Security Agency as per the Information Services Corporation (ISC) Land System database. The polygons are a subset of ISC's Cadastral dataset; specifically, the \"Surface\" feature dataset. Additional attributes have been added by WSA that are not present is ISC's Surface layer.
Ministry of Agriculture Pasture Boundaries, includes former PFRA and SPP pastures.
